Police were called to reports of a man with a handgun in Forrell Grove, West Heath, around 6.30pm on Friday (13th December).
Armed police arrived at the scene and ordered people to stay indoors said one of the local resident.
A spokes person for West Midlands Police said: “no-one matching the description, or anyone with a weapon, was identified.”
