Inspector Lee Bartram, who is based in Birmingham city centre, was arrested from his home address on Monday (13th August) and was charged last night (15th Aug).
Today he appeared at court to admit five counts of making an indecent photograph / pseudo-photograph of a child and two counts of distributing an indecent photograph / pseudo-photograph of a child.
The 44 year old officer, was remanded in custody by Walsall & Aldridge magistrates and will appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on 13th September.
He has been suspended from West Midlands Police while proceedings continue.
A voluntary referral has been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct by West Midlands Police.
I hope he gets an exceptionally long prison sentence, above and beyond what a civilian offender would receive!
No excuses, especially given his position and supposed trust within the community in which he worked.
think he’s already been treated more lightly,he’s been able to use his position and anti-terror laws to prevent his address being disclosed in court as it is with other sex offenders.
That’s been overturned now, his address has now been released. He lives in West Bromwich.
