West Midlands Police have today confirmed that a man was arrested following a robbery at a Northfield newsagent’s shop yesterday evening.
Police were called just after 7.30pm last night (Tuesday 8th April) to reports of a robbery at the shop on Bristol Road South, close to Northfield Pool and Fitness Centre.
A shop worker received minor cuts to his hand and head.
A 43-year-old Wolverhampton man was arrested last night in connection with the robbery and remained in custody this morning.
Update 11/4/14 Central Motorway Police Group have tweeted that a man arrested on the M42 following this robbery has been charged with 2 counts of robbery, 2 attempted robbery, drink driving and possession of a weapon and has been remanded in custody.
