At least four Kings Norton homes were evacuated for several hours this afternoon when a 40ft conifer threatened to topple due to soggy ground and high winds.
Ithon Grove was closed to traffic as West Midlands Fire Service worked with tree surgeons to safely fell the tree which was deemed unsafe.
