A driver has been banned for 18 months and sentenced to a 12-month community order, ordered to perform 200 hours of unpaid work and pay £500 costs for causing the death of a Northfield motorcyclist by careless driving.
Vincent Peat (38) from Northfield was killed when his green Kawaski ZX 600 collided with a black Citreon C2 driven by Damon Costello (24) of Handsworth in Edgbaston on 3rd October 2011.
The judge said that a report had demonstrated that Mr Costello had been badly affected by the accident and had been left feeling isolated and suicidal.
