This week, three years ago, B31 Voices was born!

On the 7th July 2010, we launched ‘B31 Blog’ hoping to record some things that were going on close to our home at Hollymoor, Northfield. View  our very first entry!

B31 Voices has since spread its footprint,  had a rebrand, reported on everything from lost pets to murders to elections, shared crowd-sourced information for features such as #b31snowwatch, helped local community campaigners, live-blogged events, developed invaluable links within the community, acquired ten volunteer bloggers and has grown as a community resource.

Just this week we were granted a small amount of funding from Longbridge Community First to help continue and expand on our work in the community! (More on our exciting plans for that later!)

We thought we’d take a quick  look at what was going on in this week from the archives of B31 Voices and B31 blog!

Happy 3rd Birthday to us! We’re still just a toddler…. goodness knows what we’ll be when we grow up! ;)

On July 1st 2011, locals attended Northfield Library to see a presentation, with a virtual tour, of the proposed new Library of Birmingham which is set to open soon! Read story

This time last year, the area had just been besieged by heavy rain and flash flooding – read Flood chaos – your pictures and videos  – and travellers had returned to Cofton Park

The newly formed Northfield Arts Forum, now a regular feature at events in the district, were providing their first local showcase at the 25th Northfield Carnival!
