Heartless thieves broke into a West Heath charity shop, stealing items and damaging premises (overnight Thursday 22nd – Friday 23rd July).
Staff arrived at the Alvechurch Road Sue Ryder store on Friday morning to find offenders had broken in by forcing bars from a window.
Some of the items stolen were cash from a donation tin, a laptop, jewellery and a vacuum cleaner. They failed to gain access to a safe, despite attempting to prise the door off with a shovel.
The back room and kitchen suffered most damage, with the offenders even blocking the toilet with paper.
The Sue Ryder charity provides support to people who are living with a terminal illness or a neurological condition, as well as people who have suffered a bereavement.
