Residents of a low rise apartment block in Rubery were evacuated this morning (Friday 16th July) as firefighters tackled a severe blaze.
Fire crews from Northfield, Bournbrook, Haden Cross, Ladywood, Billesley, Kings Norton and Highgate attended the fire in the roof space of an apartment in the Great Park area at around 8am.
Park Way was closed for several hours as firefighters – using an hydraulic platform and breathing apparatus – worked to control the blaze.
West Midlands Ambulance Service and Wesst Midlands Police supported fire crews at the scene.
Thankfully no-one was injured during the incident.
