New Longbridge MG dealer Paul Rigby is celebrating bringing the brand back to life on the historic Longbridge site by launching a charity initiative designed to help local communities in the area.

The retailer is raffling an exclusive one off ‘Longbridge Edition’ MG3 worth over £14,000 to raise funds for local charities.

Paul Rigby MG opened the doors to its new showroom in the Conference Centre at the Longbridge site in January 2020.

The unique “Longbridge Edition” MG3 hatchback has been created to reflect the heritage of the brand’s past through its unique design features.

The car is painted in the iconic British Racing Green and boasts a sport red roof and trim.

The matt black dashboard features red highlights such as air vents and interior stitching.

The car is uniquely badged as the Longbridge Edition and is a complete one-off making it an MG enthusiast’s dream.

The proceeds of the raffle will benefit three local charities: Pride of Longbridge, an event for ex-workers and enthusiasts; local domestic abuse charity WAITS and the B30 Foodbank.

Sales Manager Sam Rollason said: “We feel privileged and excited to be able to bring MG back to the very heart of where it all began for this brand, continuing MG’s historic association with Longbridge.

“We are very keen to get involved with local organisations and work with the community to play an active part in the regeneration of the area for the benefit of everyone living and working here.”

Pride of Longbridge organiser Gemma Cartwright said: “I’m thankful for the partnership we have built with Paul Rigby MG. The charities we have chosen are active in our communities and they will benefit from the donations.”

Speaking of ongoing work by Pride of Longbridge, she added: “I’m proud of the great foundations that Pride of Longbridge has created, ensuring our local heritage is celebrated and remembered.

“POL is working with BCC to bring our wonderful Mini back on the Longbridge A38 / Lickey Road island. We have had a Mini donated from local businessman Charles and we are looking forward to engaging the community for our Mini island.”

Marcia Lewinson from WAITS said: “Thank you to Paul Rigby MG and Pride of Longbridge with this support. We can make a difference to those facing domestic abuse in our local community.”
