A man has been arrested after a taxi driver was hospitalised following an assault and robbery in the early hours of this morning (Saturday 9th November). A second man is still being sought.
The driver, in his 50s, picked up a fare in Hereford Close, Frankley before being assaulted and robbed in Longbridge. He was taken to hospital with severe cuts and bruising.
One man has been arrested and West Midlands Police enquiries contnue to trace a second man who is believed to have been involved in the assault.

You have to feel for taxi drivers, or any service that confronts passengers or customers. Why they should have to face such violent confrontations is beyond my understanding, but I do hope the people in this case are arrested and brought to justice (even though justice these days is a complete cop out!)
