A busy Northfield junction is currently closed to all traffic following a serious collision at just after 4pm today (Tuesday 30th June).
At least two vehicles were involved in the collision in Frankley Beeches Road at the Black Horse Junction with Bristol Road South and Sir Herbert Austin Way (A38). A passing ambulance crew stopped to assist and a West Midlands Police spokesperson said that two casualties with potentially life-threatening injuries – a man and a woman – were being attended to.
Surrounding roads – including Frankley Beeches Road, Sir Herbert Austin Way, Bristol Road South and Great Stone Road – remain closed while emergency crews work at the scene.

West Midlands Police confirmed: “We are currently at the scene of a serious road traffic collision on Frankley Beeches Road, Northfield.
“We were called at just after 4pm to the collision which is understood to involve at least two cars.
“Officers attended and found ambulance service colleagues attending to a man and woman, both have potentially life-threatening [injuries].”
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “A passing-by ambulance crew came across a road traffic collision at around 4pm on Bristol Road South, Northfield. One further ambulance attended the scene. Ambulance staff found two patients, a man and a woman.”
