British Transport Police (BTP) officers investigating the sexual assault of a young girl on a train between Birmingham and Hereford have today released this image in connection.

Just after 8pm on Saturday 16th August a man sexually assaulted a 12-year-old girl who was walking with her mother to the train toilets.

He then followed and waited outside the toilets, sexually assaulting her again as she left.

Detective Sergeant Matthew Grieve said: “This is a deeply distressing incident which has shocked and impacted the family.

“We would like to speak to the man pictured, as we believe he may have valuable information that would help our investigation.”

Anyone who recognises him or has info is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 690 of 16 August.

You can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
