A 13 year old boy has appeared before magistrates after being caught carrying a machete in a Kings Norton street – just days after officers caught him carrying a knife in the same area.
Officers from West Midlands Police’s Guardian Taskforce arrested the teen earlier this month after he was found to be concealing a 15 inch knife.
However, officers from the same taskforce were patrolling around Kings Norton on Friday (15 Aug) night when they spotted suspicious activity.
Officers recovered a large machete from the area and a 13-year-old boy was charged with possession of a bladed article.
The Guardian Taskforce posted on X: “Just days after this [initial] arrest, we stopped the same young male again, meters away from the previous location, this time in possession of a sword.”
The teenager appeared before magistrates on Monday (18 August) and will be making his next court appearance later this month.
