SUMMARY:From Institution to Community Celebration Event
DESCRIPTION:CASBA will be presenting the results of their Heritage Lottery funded project collecting the fascinating stories of those who lived and worked at Monyhull Hospital, which closed twenty years ago. This landmark site was a closed institution, which was home for hundreds of people with Learning Disabilities and the subject of myths and derision by local people who understood little about what the place was or what went on there.

An exhibition, talks, a film screening and drama performance will reveal the truth about the lives of the people who lived there, both before and after the closure of the hospital. The event will take place in Monyhull Church, one of only two buildings still standing from the time of the hospital.
