    Customer Services Advisor – Welfare Specialist

    Salary £ 17,085 (Pro Rata 20 hrs per Week)

    Part Time: Permanent Position

    Northfield Community Partnership is a Charity working to improve the local communities’ life chances through a range of services from our busy community HUB in Northfield High Street.

    We are currently recruiting for a Customer Service Advisor – Housing & Welfare Benefit Specialist to deliver Housing and welfare advice on a one to one to clients accessing the Hub.

    Are you passionate about people and have a genuine desire to help people through difficult periods in their life? Having a suitable home and money to support yourself are basic human needs, and we know that life can get scary when either of these basis needs are at risk.

    The Purpose of the role is to Support NCP clients in the HUB assessing clients’ needs in an informed way so that each client is referred to a pathway that is suitable for their needs.

    You will work with clients to maximize their income and to support into work, training or volunteering, referring them to pathways suitable for their needs. You will ensure that the needs of clients with complex welfare or homeless prevention issues are met by developing a strong network with other organisations and service providers.

    The role requires knowledge of the main housing legislation and housing options, relating to homeless and vulnerably housed people and a working knowledge of the main welfare benefits in the UK, including but not limited to JSA, ESA PIP and Universal Credit.
