Fircroft College of Adult Education is an award-winning residential college occupying a former Cadbury family home, set in six acres of beautiful grounds in Selly Oak, Birmingham. We were originally founded to provide educational opportunities for some of the most disadvantaged members of society. One hundred years on our mission of ‘social justice’ is more relevant than ever. The college puts its values at the heart of the organisation, and is a thriving and ambitious environment which is experiencing a period of growth.
The college is seeking to appoint to the role of Head of Curriculum to start in April 2020. This is a vital role within the college leadership, which requires an outstanding candidate.
The role will develop and manage the college’s education programmes and teams, implement our new 5 year strategy and seek continuous quality improvement and innovation in teaching and learning. This unique opportunity will shape the way that the college develops in the future, providing the chance to design and deliver radical education which makes a difference to society as well as transforming the lives of individuals.
To be considered for this role you must have experience of successfully managing a variety of adult education programmes (19+), a track record in curriculum design and innovation and the ability to work collaboratively across the organisation. You’ll need to role model outstanding teaching, learning and assessment and be able to encourage others to do this. Specialist knowledge of one of our curriculum areas would be advantageous, as would the ability to champion the use of digital technology in education.
The right person will be someone who enjoys working at the forefront of social justice and has a passion for adult education. You will like a wide range of responsibilities, leading a diverse team and really making a difference.
