    HR and Training Officer

    Scale 3 – currently £20,255 – £22,034 per annum, pro rata

    25 hours per week

    Fircroft is a residential college occupying a former Cadbury family home, set in six acres of beautiful grounds in Selly Oak, Birmingham. We were originally founded to provide educational opportunities for some of the most disadvantaged and excluded members of society.     We are currently recruiting for a HR and Training Officer to work with us on a part time basis, the role can be worked flexibly over four or five days. This role is eligible for financial support for the CIPD qualification.

    The main purpose of this role will be to assist in the delivery of a timely and efficient HR and Training service for the employees of the College. You will support all aspects of the administration and organisation of the HR and Training function and support the work of the Head of HR in implementing and achieving College objectives.

    To be considered for this role you must have strong administration and organisation skills and experience and have worked in a self-managed environment. Some experience of organising training and events is essential as is a general knowledge of employment law. You must possess good IT skills and be able to work unsupervised, using your initiative to problem solve. Knowledge of HR practices would be advantageous.

    The right person will be someone who enjoys working at a fast pace with a variety of different tasks, who is self-managed with a strong work ethic, who has a positive outlook and a ‘can do’ attitude and is a completer / finisher.
