Fircroft is a residential college occupying a former Cadbury family home, set in six acres of beautiful grounds in Selly Oak, Birmingham. We were originally founded to provide educational opportunities for some of the most disadvantaged and excluded members of society. One hundred years on from the birth of Fircroft College, its mission of ‘social justice’ is more relevant than ever. Fircroft is a thriving and ambitious College with a vast and diverse community of learners and a strong ethos.
We are looking to appoint an Apprenticeship Manager to establish and continually develop the College’s apprenticeship programme and team; ensuring that it meets the needs of apprentices, employers, funders and the external environment. The post holder will need to ensure that our apprenticeship programme complies with funding delivery rules, and will play a key role in assuring the quality of delivery so that it meets the Ofsted descriptors for Good or Outstanding.
In addition, the post holder will proactively manage the apprenticeship programme to meet the objectives and targets set, including accountability for apprentice and employer numbers and achievement rates.
The successful candidate will have experience of managing funding and apprenticeship budgets; leading and managing employer engagement activities; and line manage staff delivering programmes to enable them to work effectively.
To be considered for this role you must qualify and have experience of teaching and assessing, as well as management of apprenticeship framework or standard delivery. There is a requirement for detailed knowledge of ESFA and Apprenticeship Levy funding requirements and significant experience of employer engagement in an apprenticeship context.
The right person will be someone who enjoys working at a fast pace with a variety of different tasks, who is self-managed with a strong work ethic, who has a positive outlook and a ‘can do’ attitude and is a completer / finisher.
Benefits at Fircroft include free parking, free cooked lunch, free hot drinks, generous annual leave, a relaxed, friendly and unique working environment, 6 acres of beautiful grounds, childcare voucher scheme, pension scheme and a passion for education, social justice and community improvement.
If you meet the criteria above and would like to apply for this role please e-mail HR@fircroft.ac.uk for an application form.
