Ref: ED10 – Business Development Officer
Scale 3 currently from £20,255 to £22,034 per annum, 37.5 hours per week. (This is a full time post but applications from individuals seeking a job-share working arrangement are welcome.)
Fircroft is a residential college occupying a former Cadbury family home, set in six acres of beautiful grounds in Selly Oak, Birmingham. We were originally founded to provide educational opportunities for some of the most disadvantaged and excluded members of society. One hundred years on from the birth of Fircroft College, its mission of ‘social justice’ is more relevant than ever. Fircroft is a thriving and ambitious College with a vast and diverse community of learners and a strong ethos.
Fircroft is currently in an exciting phase of improvement and development, we are now in a position to appoint a Business Development Officer to assist the Head of Business Development to implement our Business Development Strategy. In the role, you will build relationships with operational and strategic partners and community leaders to achieve targets, particularly in priority areas and with under-presented groups and will represent the college at a range of external events and forums throughout our region.
You will play a leading role in organising business development events at the college. You’ll also conduct some of the primary and secondary research required to develop and make the case for new initiatives and will liaise with colleagues across the college to ensure we are responsive to emerging needs and opportunities,
To be considered for this role you must have a sound understanding of Business Development together with some evidence of Business Development activity. You’ll hold Level 2 Maths and English as a minimum and have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. You’ll also be able to network effectively and present convincingly at different events and have a clear ability to work effectively with a range of partners and stakeholders. The ability to work effectively with a range of partners and stakeholders is essential.
The right person will be someone who enjoys working at a fast pace with a variety of different tasks, who is self-managed with a strong work ethic, who has a positive outlook and a ‘can do’ attitude and is a completer / finisher.
