    Salary: £8.01 per hour

    The Extracare Charitable Trust is currently seeking Bar Hosts to join the hospitality team at our brand new Retirement Village in Longbridge, Birmingham. As a Bar Host you will be employed on a permanent basis, on either a 10 hours per week contract or 6 hours per week, and will be rewarded with £8.01 per hour.

    Longbridge Retirement Village is the fifth retirement village the ExtraCare Charitable Trust has built in Birmingham. The Village will be open to residents in July 2017, and will comprise of 260 independent living apartments, arranged around an inspirational and informal village centre with facilities providing leisure and social opportunities for local older people.

    Role Objective:

    To provide the required bar services to the standards expected, ensuring a pleasant and inviting environment for Residents, visitors and friends. To achieve optimum sales and profits, minimising waste, and maximising the involvement of volunteers in the service.

    The Role:

    As an experienced Bar Host, you will provide a welcoming environment to the residents, their families and guests. On a regular basis you will encourage suggestions from the residents and implement these suggestions to ensure there are a variety of events held at the Bar. You will need to generate sufficient income to ensure the bar is self-funded; by placing orders, with preferred suppliers and monitoring stock levels. It will be essential that all cleaning and maintenance schedules are maintained; and all health and safety regulations covering food and drink are strictly complied with.

    Excellent organisation skills
    Proven people skills
    Have some experience within leadership
    The successful applicant will be required to work evenings and weekends.
