We will go through the steps of hygiene and cleaning (imperative to make the perfect cake)
2. Cake
How to make a great tasty sponge with enough density to be able to stack the cakes
What makes a great sponge, consistency and ingredients used. (these will be ready baked for the workshop ahead of time)
3. Torte
What equipment to use and why when cutting (health and safety demonstration- using blades etc)
4. Buttercream
How to make buttercream, what ingredients to use, consistency
Different flavours- how to add and how much
Colours- adding colours and graduation of colours
Adding buttercream and fillings to the centre of cake
5. Stacking cake
Stacking cake and how to pick cakes up without damage etc
How to use ganache plates and centralising your cakes for butter creaming the outside
6. Buttercream outside of cake
Crumb coating
Final coat
Using a scraper etc
Chilling
7. Chocolate
How to temper chocolate
colouring chocolate
dripping chocolate
Consistency of chocolate
8. Final Look
Adding extra details and when/how to add them.
