West Midlands Police – including armed officers – were called to reports of a man with a knife outside Shenley Academy around end of school time this afternoon (Friday 7th February).

No weapon was found by officers.

A number of parents contacted B31 Voices to say that pupils and staff were held safely inside while officers searched the area.

A police spokesperson said that officers attended just before 3pm following a report of: “a man allegedly being seen with a knife outside.”

The spokesperson added: “We carried out an extensive search of the area but nobody was found to be in possession of a knife.”
