A woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a head-on collision involving a car and a taxi near Barnt Green this afternoon (Wednesday 18th December). Two other women were also injured.

The incident happened at around 2.20pm and Kendal End Road was closed between Barnt Green and Cofton Hackett, close to the junction of Cofton Church Lane.

One female driver was trapped in her car with suspected pelvic injuries – fire crews from Bromsgrove and Northfield worked to free the woman. Two other casualties – both female – managed to get out of their vehicles unaided.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman confirmed that two ambulances and a paramedic officer attended the scene.

She said: “On arrival crews found three patients. We treated the driver of one of the vehicles, a woman, for potentially serious injuries before taking her to the QE for further treatment.

“The second patient, a woman, who was the passenger in one of the cars, was treated for minor injuries and also taken to the QE in Birmingham.

‘The third patient, the driver of the other vehicle and also a woman, denied hospital treatment and was discharged at the scene.”

The road remained closed to all traffic until just after 6pm.

West Mercia Police have been contacted for a statement.
