A Stirchley restaurant is offering a modern twist on the traditional Indian dining experience.
Patiala Indian Restaurant is named after a state in the Punjab known for its rich heritage, culture and mouth-watering street food served at old bazaars.
Serving both classic and contemporary dishes, Patiala is about changing the way people perceive and experience Indian-Bangladeshi cuisine. The restaurant’s two chefs hail from Patiala and Bangladesh and throughout the menu there is a strong focus on fresh and boldly spiced dishes.
Patiala opened 7 months ago and is owned and managed by Kiswar Hussain, 32, who already owns a busy, successful Indian restaurant in London.
Kiswar, known to guests as ‘Solomon’ and himself originally from Bangladesh, said: “We chose Stirchley as it is a popular curry destination and we wanted to provided a different experience to the area.”
And the restaurant certainly aims to make your dining experience a special one.
They cater for all special occasions and make all their own desserts. And while you can bring your own alcohol, it’s definitely worth trying one of their imaginative, fresh mocktails!
This year, they will be serving on Christmas Day (Indian or traditional options available) and partying into 2020 with a New Years Eve dinner, including a live DJ. Click for a chance to win a New Years Eve meal for two!
For those who like to eat to their heart’s content and try something different, banquet nights are held every Sunday (3 courses for £10.95) and Wednesday (4 courses £11.95). Students and NHS staff can enjoy a 5 course banquet for just £11.95 on Mondays and Tuesdays.
While the hospitality is outstanding and the welcome is warm, you may sometimes wish to eat at home and food is available to take away. So you could stay at home in your PJs and enjoy £5 off if your delivery order is over £30. Or pop on your coat and shoes and enjoy a 10% discount if you collect!
