People from across the region are being invited to remember loved ones they’ve lost at a special Memorial Service this Christmas.
Mortons Funeral Directors, who have offices in Northfield, Rubery and Cotteridge, are
hosting their popular annual Tree of Light Memorial Service.
This wonderful event will take place in a special marquee at their head office on Bristol Road South, Northfield, on Sunday 1st December.
Tree of Light Memorial Service
- The event begins at 3pm, lasts for about 45 minutes and is followed by refreshments.
- Opportunity to write a message of love on a Memorial Star, which will then be placed on Mortons’ giant Christmas tree which takes pride of place at their Northfield premises.
- People can join in with carol singing at the service – accompanied by the Band of the Droitwich Corps of the Salvation Army.
- Helping the music along will be a local guitar and singing duo who will be performing their own personal tribute, which will allow time for reflection.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
Mortons, who were established in 1898 and still remains a family-run, independent funeral director, hold the lovely community event event on the first Sunday in December every year – no invitation is needed and everyone is welcome to attend.
Sarah Case, Mortons’ Managing Director, said: “Throughout the 120-plus years that Mortons has been in business, we have always prided ourselves on being close to the community we serve, and never is that more apparent than at our Tree of Light service, at which there is always such an atmosphere of love, care and togetherness.
“Christmas is a magical time of year – a time when people who have lost someone they loved and cherished want to give thanks for their life and reflect on some precious memories.
The event is always extremely popular, (last year more than 800 people attended) and seats are allocated on a first come, first served basis, so people are encouraged to arrive early to avoid disappointment.
