Staff threatened in knife-point robbery at Rubery pharmacy


West Mercia Police are investigating after two members of staff were threatened in a robbery at a Rubery chemist late yesterday evening (Tuesday 3rd September).

A man reportedly entered the Rubery Late Night Pharmacy in New Road at around 11.20pm.

A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: “It’s reported a man entered the premises and threatened two members of staff for money. It’s believed the offender was holding a bladed object.”

After taking cash, the man left the shop and thankfully no-one was physically injured.

Enquiries into the incident are ongoing, with forensic investigators on scene this morning.

Staff at another New Road pharmacy had purses stolen from handbags last Thursday (29th August) when a thief snuck into their staff room between 9am and and 11.30am.

  1. This could be the same person who threatened a customer at an ATM outside LLoyds Bank just up the road a day or two ago; and the same person who did the other pharmacy.

    Don’t be surprised if the person strikes again on New Road.
