UPDATE 1pm Weds 4 Sept: West Mercia Police have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with this cashpoint robbery.
A spokesperson said: “Enquiries are currently ongoing. Officers are keen to speak to the man pictured as they believe he may have information that can help police with enquiries. They would also like anyone who was in the area at the time or who witnessed anyone acting suspiciously to come forward.”
West Mercia Police were called at 8:12am this morning (Tuesday 3rd September) to an incident outside the Lloyds bank on New Road, Rubery.
It’s reported that as a man withdrew cash from the cashpoint at the local bank, he was approached and threatened by another man who demanded he handed the money over.
It’s believed the offender was holding a bladed object.
The offender stole the cash and then fled in the direction of St Chads – enquiries are ongoing.
