Visitors at today’s (28 September) Moseley Farmers’ Market were surprised to see the legendary musician, Ronnie Wood – of one of the greatest rock bands of all time, The Rolling Stones – doing a spot of shopping.
The market – which takes place every fourth Saturday of the month (9am till 2pm) at the crossroads in the centre of Moseley – is a real highlight of the month with its stalls offering a wide range of fabulous local produce to purchase.
Seeing a celebrity is not uncommon, but when purchasing your fresh organic eggs or browsing a selection of homemade jams, you don’t expect Ronnie Wood to be standing next to you.
Izzy Knowles, one of the volunteers who manage the award winning Moseley Farmers’ Market said: “We have people come to shop here from all over the Midlands and beyond. Today there was a special buzz so it was really nice to see Ronnie enjoying a day out in Brum.”
The 72 year old ‘lad’, has rocked the world for years with Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Charlie Watts. He’s married to Sally Humphries, who is from south Birmingham and he is often seen at Umami Indian Restaurant in Harborne when visiting her family.
Ronnie recently announced that he’d be performing a new show, which will include tracks from his new album ‘Mad Lad’, at the Birmingham Symphony Hall on Twitter.
I am delighted to announce a new show at @THSHBirmingham on 25th November, where I’ll be playing tracks from my new album Mad Lad.
