The man left with cash and tools in a black bag.

A West Midlands Police spokesman confirmed that enquiries are underway and asked anyone who witnessed the robbery – or who saw the man making off – to contact police.

The hardware shop robbery comes just a day after a man was mugged at knifepoint at a Rubery cash machine and staff at a Rubery pharmacy were threatened with a knife by a man demanding cash.

Investigations are at an early stage and police have not been able to confirm any link between the three incidents at this stage.

West Mercia Police have today released an image of a man they want to speak to who they believe may have information regarding yesterday’s cashpoint robbery.
