Established community groups – along with new and developing groups and individuals – have today begun a series of workshops aimed at helping them gain funding for their projects.
Representatives of around 20 groups – based in or serving the Frankley Great Park and Rubery Rednal wards – attended the first sessions at Longbridge Methodist Church.
The sessions were organised by a partnership of local community organisations, Longbridge Moving Forward (LMF).
For LMF, Gemma Cartwright said: “We had a great introduction to funding sessions today. The aim was to help build confidence and knowledge and empower groups to apply for funding.
“It also brought people together to share information and ideas for great projects to support our communities, which is exactly what the LMF partnership is about.”
A further two sessions are planned next month to help the groups work towards making bids for more funding.
