Three people – including a pedestrian – were injured when a car smashed into a bus stop in Selly Oak this morning (Sunday 18th November). 

The accident happened at around 7.15am on the southbound carriageway, close to the Weoley Park Road junction. All three emergency services were called to the scene.

A police spokeswoman confirmed: “The driver of the car, the passenger and a pedestrian have all been taken to hospital to be treated for injuries which are not believed the be life threatening.”

A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

The road currently remains closed southbound.
