A fundraising page has been set up to help a promising junior gymnast from Bartley Green to travel to Russia to represent Great Britain.

Young Bailey Forbes – whose Mom, Gemma says “never keeps still, always on the go” – has been attending the excellent Revolution Gymnastics in Selly Oak since the age of 4.

Already English and British champion, the talented 10 year old lad, is now on his way to the Tumbling World Championships in St. Petersburg, which are held between 15th – 18th November.

However, being a promising junior gymnast comes with a financial cost. The trip is totally self-funded, which means for Bailey to compete, it will cost £1600 to cover flights, accommodation, the GB kit and the competition entry fee.

Bailey is clearly talented, has the desire and discipline to keep improving (he trains 5 days a week). He is also fortunate to be part of a great club and have a supportive family and school around him. However, your help is needed too.

Super supportive Nan, Marie Harris set up the fundraising page to ask for people’s help on social media. Bailey’s Mom Gemma said Marie: “has always supported Bailey from when he first started [and] is always at every competition”.

Gemma added: “Without her support I could not have afforded most of the training and kit over the years.”

Gemma also praised Bailey’s school and coach, saying: “Princethorpe Junior School have been amazing with support. His coach, Rob Owen, is an amazing man – he does so much for these kids.”

If you can support and help this gifted little fella to compete in Russia, please visit his fundraising page here.

  1. Nice to have some good news for a change, especially with regards youngsters, to whom for the most part are always denigrated as troublemakers.

Best of luck, Bailey. Do your country proud
