The eagerly anticipated arrival of Lounges brand spanking new Northfield based premises – Allegro Lounge, is almost upon us.
The fabulously quirky restaurant/café/bar, will open their doors on Wednesday 28th November, to the excited public who are not only longing to feast on the delicious menu, but also feast their eyes on creative décor.
Loungers have invested a whopping £650k transforming the what used to be ‘Store Twenty One’ shop opposite Prices Square, into a family-friendly retro-inspired cosy retreat, where eclectic artwork and quirky curios sit next to oversized vintage sofas and old school benches, strikingly painted table tops and statement lighting, in Loungers’ eclectic style.
This commitment is a real boost to the local area, providing 25 jobs for local people – using the B31 Voices #LocalJobsForLocalPeople’ jobs page. The venue will also attract new visitors to the high street.
Particular attention has been paid to families – there is a fine selection of games, books, colouring pencils and pads, a full menu just for Little Loungers and high chairs and baby-change facilities.
Kristina Hurst, operations manager, Loungers, said “We can’t wait to get in and get going at Allegro Lounge and become involved in the community who we hope will love lounging as much as we do.”
A community notice board is available for those wanting to publicise events and a book swap area is kept well stocked. The team will also be holding regular fund-raising events as part of their commitment to making a difference in the community. With this in mind the team has chosen to support a local charitable cause, Birmingham Women’s Hospital’s Neo Natal Unit, who provide care to babies born prematurely, with a low birth weight or in need of specialist care. Allegro Lounge will raise funds for the cause by donating 50p from every burger and 10p from every coffee sold during the first month of trading.
Allegro Lounge will cater for all tastes throughout the day. Whether you’re looking for the best coffee in town, a business lunch with colleagues or a lazy all-day brunch, Allegro Lounge is the perfect place to relax and unwind. The all-day menu features everything from an array of tapas and the famous Hero burger to Tin Pan Louie’s beef chilli, packed paninis and the best mac and cheese you’ve ever tasted… or there’s the ever-changing specials menu. Little Loungers, vegans and those favouring a gluten-free diet are well catered for with their very own menus.
Oh, and if you’re asking yourself ‘Why Allegro?’ As with all of their venues, they aim to “celebrate the history and spirit of each local community”, Allegro is a nod to local car industry heritage.
