Homeowners were thankfully uninjured as a car smashed into their Bartley Green home in the early hours of Saturday morning (1st September).

The collision happened at around half past midnight in Woodgate Lane when a Vauxhall Astra left the road at the junction with Clapgate Lane and Carters Lane.

The car went over a grass verge and a pavement, knocking over a telecommunications junction box, before crashing into the house, destroying the porch.

West Midlands Fire and Ambulance Services attended the scene, alongside West Midlands Police officers.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said that two men from the car were taken to hospital for treatment following the accident, but that no-one in the house had been hurt.

The spokesperson said that enquiries were ongoing. Anyone with any information is asked to call West Midlands Police on 101. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 or visit www.crimestoppers-uk.org
