Staff left shaken following armed robbery at local Greggs

West Midlands police are investigating following an armed robbery at the Greggs shop, Arden Road, Frankley.

The terrifying incident happened at around 12.30pm last Saturday (4th August) when two masked offenders entered the store and one of them, believed to be holding a meat cleaver, demanded money from staff.

With a vehicle outside, the pair escaped with a quantity of cash.

A spokesperson from West Midlands Police sad: “Although shaken no-one was injured but we fully appreciate how being a victim of robbery is a frightening experience.”

Following the incident, it has been reported by the Birmingham Mail that extra security measures have been taken and a security guard is now present at the Frankley food outlet.
