A stolen car was recovered after a lengthy pursuit around south west Birmingham this afternoon (Sunday 29th July).
According to witnesses, it appears the Black Mercedes SUV – which was stolen from Solihull yesterday – was pursued around Frankley, Longbridge, Rednal and Rubery.
One witness said he saw the car being driven across the central reservation and on the wrong side of the dual carriageway down Lickey Road towards Longbridge island.
Another eye witness said that, as the car sped through traffic lights at the A38 junction with Park Way at Great Park, the driver chose to drive head on into oncoming traffic on the A38 dual carriageway. The car then sped down the Cock Hill slip road before the occupants abandoned the vehicle and made off on foot.
