The popular Northfield Beach event is back and this year it kicks off the summer break with a roar!
Organised by Northfield Community Partnership, the free event runs from Wednesday 25th to Sunday 29th July 2018, with an urban beach, entertainment and activities for all ages in Price’s Square in the town centre.
Weds 25th: Jurassic Beach
And this year’s event will feature a MONSTER of an opening day with a chance to mingle with a T-Rex (11am and 2pm), as well as an opportunity to pet some baby dinosaurs (12 pm and 3pm) and take part in a Dino Dig at Jurassic Beach!
Thurs 26th: No Sharks at the Beach!
The monster theme continues on Thursday 26th July with a No Sharks at the Beach day!
There’ll be an outdoor cinema screening Shark Tale and you can help create a giant shark and shark mural!
You can also meet the mascot of this year’s main funders, Stop Loan Sharks – Sid the Shark. Sid travels the country spreading the word and helping communities bite back against loan sharks.
Fri 27th: Sensory Day
Awaken your senses with sensory activities all day long at the beach! Including: sensory arts and crafts, musical workshops with Oya Batucada, a climbing wall and learn your name in sign language!
Sat 28th: Back to the 40s
Experience the Ultimate 40s Variety Show (12pm and 2pm) – a must see for all ages, even if you don’t remember the 40s first hand!
Bring your Union Flags and be ready to sing and swing with some well known classics!

Sun 29th: Reggae at the Beach **NEW VENUE**
Please note: due to forecast heavy rain, Reggae at the Beach will now take place at Quarry Lane Social Club, Quarry Lane, Northfield B31 2PY
The fun-fest concludes with the Reggae at the Beach day – a day rammed full of musical entertainment, ranging from classic reggae tunes to contemporary urban vibes.
With free facepainting, stalls, arts and crafts with Northfield Arts Forum and more, all going on in Price’s Square for the duration of the event, there will be something for everyone so please support this amazing community event!
Northfield Community Partnership CEO Rebecca Debenham said: “We are proud to announce that for our 7th year Northfield Beach is back!
“We are bringing back our lovely urban beach, deckchairs and sand to Northfield High Street, allowing the community to enjoy a holiday right on their doorstep.”
