Two staff members were assaulted when knife-wielding robbers struck at a Northfield convenience store late yesterday evening (Wednesday 13th June).

Two men, armed with a knife, entered the Cooperative store in Turves Green just before 10pm. Fortunately, the two women suffered only minor injuries after being kicked and punched by the thieves.

The pair stole a quantity of cash before running from the store, turning right as they left.

Police are currently investigating the robbery and, so far, have issued a partial description of one of the offenders.

He is described as around 6ft tall, wearing a distinctive dark blue puffa jacket with a green hood that had glasses fixed on it and a green patch on the front.

Anyone with information is asked to call West Midlands Police on 101 giving log number 2822 of 13 June. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 or visit www.crimestoppers-uk.org
