West Midlands Police arrested four teenagers and seized a machete following a disturbance in a Cotteridge street yesterday afternoon (Friday 4th May).

Officers were alerted to reports of a group of teens – one brandishing a machete – fighting in Watford Road at around 4.30pm. 

Firearms officers attended the scene and arrested four teenagers – two 18 year old men from Kings Norton and Longbridge, a 17 year old boy from Wolverhampton and a 15 year old boy from Northfield – on suspicion of causing an affray.

A sheathed machete was seized after being found concealed in the leg of the 15 year old’s trousers. He was also arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon.

We understand nobody was injured and all four remained in custody this morning.
