Update: The army bomb disposal team have safely removed the unexploded WW2 device from the construction site in Islington Row Middleway. All roads are now open.

If you’re heading home out of the city, be aware, bomb disposal crews are dealing with an unexploded World War II shell 

West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “We’ve been called to a construction site in Islington Row Middleway to reports of an unexploded WW2 bomb. As a precaution the site has been evacuated and Islington Row Middleway up to Bath Row has been closed. The army bomb disposal team are at the scene.”
