A number of people have contacted us, concerned about an incident in Frankley this morning (Monday 19th March).

West Midlands Police have confirmed that they attended an address in Oberon Close just after 10am, after receiving reports that a woman was being assaulted by a man who – at the time – was thought to be armed with a knife.

The woman, in her 30s, sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital by West Midlands Ambulance Service.

A man – believed to be known to the woman – was arrested in Holly Hill Road on suspicion of assault.

A police spokeswoman said: “Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact West Midlands Police on 101 quoting log number 579 of 19 March.”
