A taxi driver suffered knife wounds to his leg and hands after being assaulted by a group of people in Northfield in the early hours of yesterday morning (Saturday 2nd December).

The driver – believed to be from 247 Radio Cars – had got out of his vehicle after he was approached by the group on Bristol Road South, close to the junctions of The Roundabout and Farren Road, at around 12.45am.

The driver’s wounds are not thought to be life threatening and police enquiries are ongoing.

A West Midlands Police spokesman confirmed today that: “Police are investigating after a taxi driver was stabbed in the leg in Bristol Road South, Northfield, at around 12.45am yesterday. […]

“Anyone with information can call police on 101; quoting crime reference number 20BW/260577D/17.”
