West Midlands Police are investigating after a man was seen with a knife outside Northfield McDonalds yesterday (Thursday 30th November).

Armed officers turned up to investigate at just before 4.30pm – shadowed by former Eastenders actor and hard hitting TV presenter Ross Kemp and a film crew.

A West Midlands Police spokeswoman said: “Police were called to McDonalds on the Bristol Road to reports of a man with a knife outside the restaurant. Officers attended and carried out an area search to try and trace the suspect. Nobody was injured.”

Enquiries into the Northfield incident are on-going. Anyone with information please call 101 quoting log 1466 30/11.

Following the incident, a number of tweets began to appear, mentioning Mr Kemp’s presence in Northfield.

@LumpySpacePrincess tweeted: “Have just seen Ross Kemp leaving Northfield McDonalds. Not joking. V bizarre.”

It is understood that Ross Kemp is filming with West Midlands Police. He even met our local neighbourhood officers today – unfortunately, we are told that the officers are “too cool for photos. Fistbumps only!”

Have you seen Ross Kemp locally? Were you brave enough to ask for a selfie?! ;)
