West Midlands police are investigating after a hit and run left an elderly lady with serious injuries and commuters having to find alternative routes to work.
The incident happened on Oak Tree Lane, Selly Oak just before 10am this morning (Wednesday 6th December). The road was blocked by police officers to allow them, firefighters from Red Watch, Bournbrook, and a crew from West Midlands Ambulance services deal with the situation and to investigate after.
The victim, whose car was stationary at the time, was the only casualty and was taken to hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries.
The offending vehicle was later traced nearby and the driver identified, investigating officers continue with their enquiries.
