The son of a 78 year old woman is appealing to find precious family photos after her bag was stolen in a house burglary in the Ley Hill area of Northfield overnight (Monday 4th – Tuesday 5th December).

The lady got up this morning to discover thieves had entered her home by breaking the back door lock and chain, stealing her bag.

The black shoulder bag contained her purses, around £200 in cash and cards. Also inside were her medical notes and keys.

Most upsettingly for her was the precious family photos that were lost along with her bag, including pictures of her recently passed husband and her only photographs of her first late husband.

The bag is a black, shoulder bag and contained two purses: one red embossed purse and one beige Burberry-like check pattern. The keys had a house-shaped Birmingham City Council keyring and plastic coloured covers on the key heads.

West Midlands Police are investigating the burglary and are examining neighbours’ CCTV images.

If you find the bag or have any information on the burglary, please call West Midlands Police on 101, quoting reference 20BW/263041N/17. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 or visit www.crimestoppers-uk.org
