A teenager was arrested in the early hours of this morning (Thursday 23rd November) after ramming a police car with a stolen BMW in Shenley Lane, dumping both the car and his passenger – in her dressing gown – as he tried to make his escape.
When officers tried to pull over the white BMW 1 Series – which they suspected was stolen – it failed to stop.
Instead, the 17 year from Northfield rammed the stolen car into the police car and ran off, leaving his 23 year old female passenger in her dressing gown behind.
After a short foot-chase, officers soon caught up with the lad and arrested him on suspicion of car theft, dangerous driving and criminal damage.
His passenger was also arrested on suspicion of car theft.
