Northfield pet store to stay as majority of Just for Pets stores saved by sale

Last month, we heard the news that the Just for Pets chain of stores was to go in to administration – threatening jobs at 25 stores across England, including in Northfield. It has now been announced that most of the stores, including Northfield, have been saved.

Administrators, appointed by current owners Wynnstay, have secured the sale of 18 out of the 25 Just for Pets stores. Unfortunately, the remaining 7 will close, but Northfield is set to stay.

The stores have been purchased by the Pedigree Wholesale group, a specialist pet company that’s been active in the pet sector for over 45 years.

A spokesperson for Just for Pets said: “Like us, Pedigree shares a passion for offering outstanding pet care products and knowledge, so our pet loving customers can continue to enjoy the same brands, expert advice and pet products.

“With this investment into Just for Pets we can expect to reveal exciting new product ranges in addition to the firm favourites that we know our customers love to visit us to buy.”

Northfield store manager Natalie wants to thank all customers for sticking with them through this uncertain period. For more updates, see the Just for Pets Northfield Facebook page

  1. This is pleasing news, especially for the Northfield branch. I have shopped there on many occasions and have always found the guys there extremely helpful and enthusiastic in their work.

it is true some of the products are more expensive than online retailers, but obviously they have higher overheads, not least insurance and business rates.

But if we don’t shop local we will lose them for good.

  2. Splendid news in time for Christmas. Am generally a weekly customer @ JustForPets in Northfield where staff are so welcoming and knowledgeable & products first-class. Many thanks to all for hanging in there during the waiting period. Hope the vacciclinic might soon be available again.
