A local brain injury charity is able to provide more for its clients thanks to the players of the People’s Postcode Lottery.
Headway Birmingham and Solihull, based in Rednal, received £20,000 from the Postcode Community Trust and are using it to develop their Sports and Wellbeing scheme which helps their brain injured clients participate in sports in their local communities through the support of dedicated sports co-ordinators. Clients will be able to enjoy activities that have been specifically designed for people with disabilities at varying levels, including gym sessions, disability cricket, fishing, walking football and much more.
Sue Tyler, CEO of Headway Birmingham and Solihull, said ” We are so grateful for this funding boost from the Postcode Community Trust for helping us get this project off the ground. Increased physical activity is good for everyone’s health and fitness and we hope to build our Sports and Wellbeing project over the coming months and years to ensure clients continue to have this opportunity to participate in community sports”.
