Police were alerted on the evening of Sunday 17th September to a dog attack on a woman in Willetts Road, in the Turves Green area of Northfield.

A 49-year-old woman was walking along the road at around 9pm when what is described as a pit bull-type dog ran towards her and bit her leg and right arm, puncturing her skin.

A passerby pulled their car over during the attack and helped the victim into the car.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “It’s understood a woman came out of nearby flats and took the dog away but officers have not yet been able to trace the owner.”

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information is asked to call police on 101, quoting 20BW/201444L/17. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or visit www.crimestoppers-uk.org
