Clients of Headway Birmingham and Solihull, based in Rednal, recently enjoyed their first triathlon and received medals for their efforts.

The brain injury charity, who were recently granted £20,000 from the Postcode Community Trust to further develop their Sports and Wellbeing programme, staged the sporting event to enable clients to beat their own personal targets in events such as swimming, cycling and walking/running.

Sarah Wood, a sports co-ordinator at the charity, said “We set a target for each client for each individual element of the triathlon depending on their individual ability. And they all rose to the challenge. They trained hard before the event and their efforts paid off, with everyone beating  their personal goals. We couldn’t be more proud of them”.
